Sabah to develop halal hub in Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park, says CM

KOTA KINABALU, Dec 16– A halal hub will be developed in the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) to encourage regional business owners to endeavor into the halal market, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.He said the 8.09-hectare center would provide on-site facilities, technology and digital platforms required by entrepreneurs in the sector.”It will also offer help in the processing and marketing of the product,” he said in his speech, which was checked out by State Community Development and Peoples Welfare Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, throughout the closing ceremony of the Malaysia Halal Tour 2021 (JHM) Sabah here today.Hajiji stated Sabah was one of the main contributors to the countrys halal economy, a new development sector with big potential.”The halal tourist market is anticipated to grow strongly provided Sabahs strategic location in the Brunei– Indonesia– Malaysia– Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), which also opens up many direct investment and border trade chances with the development in neighbouring Kalimantan, Indonesia,” he said.Hajiji therefore prompted all appropriate ministries and companies as well as industry gamers to mobilise efforts to increase the worldwide marketability of regional halal products.He said the state government would likewise continue to offer different efforts as a catalyst for the halal industry, especially by providing more service chances to local little and medium market entrepreneurs.
